Additional Duties Decisions

This page lists the decisions we have made on whether to grant approval to clubs in relation to the actions covered by the duties under sections 46, 47, 48 and 49 of the Football Governance Act (“the Act”). 

Since 5 May 2026, the section 47 duty not to appoint an administrator under the out of court procedure without approval has applied to all regulated clubs, and also all clubs who are no longer regulated but have been in the previous five years (from 5 May 2026). 

Since 1 July 2026, the section 46 duty not to dispose etc of home ground without approval, the section 48 duty not to relocate the home ground and the section 49 duty not to change crest, home shirt colours or name without approval have applied to all regulated clubs. The duty under section 46 also applies to clubs who are no longer regulated but have been in the previous 5 years (from 1 July 2026).
